Certified Staff Assignments for 2012-2013

Announcement

May 10, 2012

Winchester Public Schools has distributed assignment letters to certified staff members. Each of the schools has the same grade configuration as the present school year: Batcheller Early Education Center will continue to serve grades PK to 1, Hinsdale School, grades 2 to 4, and Pearson School, grades 5 and 6. There are a few internal changes.

First, to meet district needs and to capitalize on the strengths and skills of administrators, Mr. Clay Krevolin and Mr. Matt O’Connell, will be switching roles. Mr. Krevolin will be the principal at Batcheller School and Mr. O’Connell will be the principal at Pearson School. Together the two principals will share administrative duties at Hinsdale School.

The shared duties will optimize school-based needs for each school community. Furthermore, the initiatives in the district call on us to implement programs for academic intervention and technology. Mr. Krevolin and Mr. O’Connell’s leadership in each of these areas will further augment the offerings and services for our students.

Next, among the certified staff, most grade levels will have the same teachers while a few will see new faces. The changes are due to a goal of redefining our early childhood reading program and meeting the voids created through retirements and vacancies in regular and special services areas. There is also a need to further support grade level needs.

For the great majority of staff, there is a high degree of consistency among the assignments while capturing the needs within our school district. We look forward to a highly productive 2012-2013 school year.
