Education: I currently hold a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University, a Sixth Year Certificate in Administration from Southern Connecticut State University, and a Master's Degree from Wesleyan University's GLSP program with a concentration in the study of the U.S. Constitution as a James Madison Fellow.
Occupation: Social Studies Teacher for 30 years, Department Chair at Canton Public Schools Accomplishments: I have been recognized as an "Outstanding Teacher in American History" by the Phoebe Humphrey Chapter of the DAR in Avon-Canton, and I currently serve as a member of the Connecticut Council for the Social Studies. I have also served in the development of the 2015 Connecticut State Social Studies Frameworks and the 2023 State Standards for grades K through 12. I have been recognized as Canton School District’s Teacher of the Year in 2019-2020.
Reasons for being on the Board of Education: I believe in supporting the role and mission that public education plays, which is to provide all students, regardless of background, access to equitable education and to give students opportunities to embrace our diversity, thus preparing them to live and work in a culturally diverse world as active and engaged citizens. Residence Information: I have been living in Winsted for 27 years. I am originally from Stamford, Connecticut.
