Hinsdale Drop-Off Information

Adjusted Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures for Hinsdale


Due to the large number of parent transporters, we are altering the locations for buses and parents. We are hopeful this will expedite the transportation process.

Beginning on the afternoon of 8/31/22

  • Pick-ups will be located in the bus loop. Parents enter on the church side of the building, pull as far as you can in the loop up to Williams Ave. get out of your car, come to the main entrance and your child will be provided to you.
    Buses will line up on Hinsdale Ave. and staff will escort the students to the bus.

Beginning on the morning of 9/1/22

  • Buses will drop off on Hinsdale Ave. and staff will receive students from the bus. 
  • Parents will drop off in front of the main office. Students will be escorted in by staff. 

ARRIVAL (8:10-8:25 am)


Breakfast gathering spaces will be available at each gathering area to take as students are dismissed to their classroom at 8:25pm. 

All students will be dismissed to the classrooms from the hallway locations at 8:25 AM. Teachers must be at their door at this time to greet their students. Staff on duty will continue to monitor the hallways to ensure students safely arrive at their classroom. 

DISMISSAL (3:10-3:25 pm)
Parent Pick-up and Walkers

Students that are parent pick-ups and walkers will be dismissed at 3:10 PM sharp via a school-wide announcement. At this time, students should be ready to leave the classroom with all their items. Please ensure that all students leave promptly at this time. All hands on deck for staff across the building to be in the hallways to ensure students get to where they need to be safely. Students will be seated in the hallway by grade level until it is their time to be picked-up. Parents will be parking and need to return up the stairs near the ‘H’  on the side entrance. On duty staff in charge of signing students out will call students up and keep track of who is picked up and record their initials on the sign out sheet. Additional staff will be monitoring students who are waiting to be picked up. 


Following the dismissal of pick ups and walkers, please dismiss bus students to the main entranceway and line them up by bus numbers posted in the hallway. Teachers in charge of a bus will check students in and ensure they have all students before leaving the building. Classroom teachers must circulate bus lines to assist with monitoring students and ensuring all students get to where they need to go. 

Every student prek-grade 2 will receive a dismissal tag indicating their mode of transportation for dismissal. The office will keep up with updating these tags, as needed. Please ensure that tags are visible at all times. These tags will be used to ensure students are in the proper location each day at dismissal. If a parent notifies you of a dismissal change or problem with a tag, you must report this directly to the main office. Tags should only be written on or modified by the main office staff. 


All communication regarding dismissal concerns must go through the main office in person or via walkie.
